What is Self-Talk

Self-talk is the ongoing conversation that occurs in our minds and plays a vital role in our mental health. It influences how we interpret experiences, respond to challenges, and view ourselves.

• Self-talk combines thoughts, beliefs, and internal messages that shape how we process everyday situations, impacting our overall mental health.

• It can be supportive and encouraging, promoting positive self-talk, or negative and self-defeating.

• Healthy self-talk increases awareness, strengthens confidence, reduces stress, and fosters more intentional responses to challenges, all of which are crucial for maintaining good mental health.

• By learning to recognize and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, self-talk can become a powerful tool that supports growth rather than limits it.
